About the graduate commons program
This unique interdisciplinary program provides a “home away from home” for the Harvard graduate students, faculty, post-docs, staff, and their families living in Harvard University Housing properties. We are committed to making your Harvard experience a truly remarkable one by hosting events that spark your intellectual curiosity, challenge your physical being, and make a difference to your community.
GCP has transitioned during this time of physical distancing to host most of our events via virtual platforms. Though COVID-19 has presented many challenges to our usual ways of doing things, it has not weakened our resolve to deliver high quality events like our Meet the Scholar series, yoga classes, game nights, networking happy hours and more.
The minute you sign your HUH lease, GCP programs are available to you - even if you won't move in for a while. We highly encourage you and all members of your household to check out our Welcome Season calendar, and to begin making connections with your soon-to-be neighbors. Our events are open to all HUH residents, current and future, which means you can begin expanding your One Harvard Network from your immediate cohort to all twelve graduate and professional schools.
Keeping Harvard Healthy
Comply with the Massachusetts Travel Order
At this time, all visitors and returning residents entering Massachusetts are required to complete the Massachusetts Travel Form and quarantine for 14 days, with some exceptions.
Please visit https://www.mass.gov/forms/massachusetts-travel-form for details and understand that failure to comply may result in a $500/day fine.
A limited number of Harvard students and personnel will be authorized to live and/or work on campus. Only those students and personnel who are authorized to be on campus and who are undergoing frequent viral testing are allowed to be on-campus. Students and personnel living in the area around campus should not come to campus for any reason unless approved by your School or Unit's local leadership and/or manager.
If you are authorized to work in an office or lab on campus, see Office & Lab requirements.
Harvard is only providing testing for students and personnel who are living in on-campus in dormitory style housing or who will have a regular on-campus presence. Note that Harvard University Housing apartments are not considered on-campus dormitory style apartments. See the Harvard COVID19 webpage on Testing & Tracing for testing protocols and frequency. Additional information will be shared with students by their School.
